This new Jim Taylor-designed 44-foot coastal racing/daysailer was launched by Brooklin Boat Yard in 2021 and is BBY’s very first sailboat with all-electric auxiliary power.

This boat draws its lineage directly from the previous Jim Taylor/BBY 49-footers Dreadnought, Blackfish, and Rascal. It has enough evolutionary design changes that, along with more emphasis on sailing, place it in a different category.

Graceful lines and white topsides along with varnished mahogany cabin sides, cockpit coamings, and toe rails, keep the exterior appearance truly in the Spirit of Tradition class. A 48-volt lithium-ion battery powers the state-of-the-art electric propulsion system. Touch screen controls are integrated into a paneled interior of curly maple, blending 21st-century systems into a luxurious whole that’s put together with timeless craftsmanship.
